Motion Portals Stuttgart combines contemporary dance with sculptures in public spaces.

At seven locations in the center of Stuttgart, short, location-based dance films can be accessed via QR codes.

They were created in direct dialogue with the respective sculptures and their surroundings.

Seven
Sculptures
Seven
Portals

The project comprises seven sculptures in the center of Stuttgart that function as portals in public spaces. They invite visitors to leave their usual paths, take on new perspectives, and actively experience the urban space. The combination of dance, sculpture, and digital technology creates places of encounter – with oneself, with the city, and with art as a dynamic part of everyday life.

How it works

1. Be on Site:

Visit one of the seven sculptures in central Stuttgart.

2. Scan the QR code:

Scan the QR code on the sign in the immediate vicinity of the sculpture with your smartphone. A short dance film, shot at this very location will open.

3. Experience with headphones:

For each sculpture a unique sound composition has been created.
